On January 15, 2026, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2 Bridge) investment project under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The same day saw the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cat Lai Bridge investment project. This event, held within the framework of activities celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, carries profound political and social significance, demonstrating the determination, vision, and aspiration for sustainable development of the Party Committee, government, and people of Dong Nai province in the new era.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Long Hung Bridge project is one of the key transportation infrastructure projects, implemented to meet the urgent need for transportation connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province, especially from the northern and northeastern areas of Ho Chi Minh City. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only does the project help alleviate traffic congestion on existing arterial routes such as Hanoi Highway and the Ho Chi Minh City \u2013 Long Thanh \u2013 Dau Giay Expressway, but it also plays a crucial role in forming an inter-regional transportation infrastructure network, connecting Dong Nai, Long Thanh Airport with Ho Chi Minh City, thereby opening up new development opportunities for the entire region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Long Hung Bridge construction project, implemented under the public-private partnership model, has officially taken place.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

According to the plan, the Long Hung Bridge project will be implemented in Long Phuoc ward (Ho Chi Minh City) and Tam Phuoc ward, An Phuoc commune (Dong Nai province). The project's starting point is located on the bridge approach road, approximately 2.53 km from the Go Cong interchange in Ho Chi Minh City; the project's end point connects directly to the Bien Hoa \u2013 Vung Tau expressway. The total length of the project is approximately 9.8 km, of which the main bridge and approach bridges are about 3.5 km long, requiring approximately 52.8 hectares of land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Long Hung Bridge is designed with 6 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed traffic, with a bridge width of 36 meters, ensuring sufficient clearance height and navigable width for ships entering and exiting ports and wharves in the area. The approach roads are designed according to urban main road standards, with a design speed of 80 km\/h, ensuring consistency with the transportation plan and urban development orientation of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project has a total investment of approximately VND 11,496 billion, excluding interest on loans during the construction period. Construction is expected to take place from 2026 to 2028, after which it will be put into operation to serve transportation needs, facilitate goods circulation, and promote socio-economic development in the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, Nguyen Thi Hoang, emphasized that the Long Hung Bridge Project contributes to the formation of an important transportation axis connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh Airport. It is one of the large and particularly important bridge projects, clearly identified as a strategic project in the regional transportation infrastructure network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon completion, the Long Hung Bridge will contribute to improving connectivity between urban areas, industrial zones, logistics centers, and important transportation hubs, thereby improving the quality of life for residents and enhancing the competitiveness of the Southern key economic region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dong Nai province is currently finalizing urban development plans for Long Thanh, based on the Aerotropolis and Twin City models, aiming to create a globally competitive area. In this context, the Long Hung Bridge is not merely a transportation project, but a crucial infrastructure link contributing to the realization of a modern, integrated, and sustainable urban development vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council approved the investment plan for the construction of Long Hung Bridge and Cat Lai Bridge using the PPP method on December 10, 2025. Subsequently, on January 10, 2026, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee issued a decision selecting the consortium of Construction Corporation No. 1 \u2013 JSC (CC1), CC1 Investment Joint Stock Company, and Southern Infrastructure and Energy Joint Stock Company as the investor to implement the Long Hung Bridge project under special circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CC1 considers its participation in the Long Hung Bridge project a significant milestone in the company's development strategy, as it transforms from a traditional construction contractor to an infrastructure investor, proactively participating in large-scale, inter-regional, and long-term PPP projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 46 years of experience in construction and infrastructure investment, CC1 has participated in the construction and investment of numerous bridges across the Dong Nai River and other rivers, such as the new Dong Nai Bridge, Hoa An Bridge, Van Uc Bridge, An Hao Bridge, Thu Thiem 1 Bridge, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, etc., making a significant contribution to improving transportation capacity and expanding urban and industrial development space in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
