This morning (April 28th), the first pile drilling for the pedestrian bridge project across the Saigon River officially commenced at the riverbank of the Thu Thiem New Urban Area. This also marks the beginning of construction package No. 1 of the project, undertaken by Construction Corporation No. 1 – JSC (CC1).
Leaders from the investor Nutifood, CC1, along with the project supervision and management consulting units, were present at the construction site to witness this significant milestone for the project.

After the first pile is successfully drilled, the construction unit will continue to carry out subsequent drilling for both sides of District 1 and Thu Duc City. According to the design, each bridge pier will have 4 bored piles with a diameter of 0.8m and an average depth of 33m.
CC1 was chosen by Nutifood to implement this project, which includes the approach bridges and approach roads on both banks of the Saigon River, and the foundation using bored piles and cement-soil piles.
Sharing the reasons for choosing CC1 as the contractor, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, Deputy General Director in charge of Projects at Nutifood, said: “CC1 is a reputable construction company with a long history and rich experience in implementing key projects in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country. By cooperating with CC1, Nutifood believes that together with the contractor, we will strive to complete the project on schedule and to the standards so that the pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River can be launched soon, serving the people of the city. The pile driving will be carried out on the Thu Thiem side first. Following that, this work will be done on the District 1 side after April 30th.”
Notably, this is the second time CC1 has constructed a bridge over the Saigon River, following the success of the Thu Thiem Bridge – a key transportation project with distinctive architecture in Ho Chi Minh City, completed nearly 20 years ago. With experience in constructing large-scale bridges across the Saigon River, CC1 continues to affirm its capabilities and pioneering position in the field of urban transportation infrastructure construction.

Representing CC1, Mr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CC1, expressed his joy at being selected to undertake this meaningful project. “Like Nutifood, CC1 was formed and developed in Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City, a place closely associated with many historical milestones of the nation. We all aspire to contribute to the prosperity and development of the city, as we have consistently done throughout our nearly 50-year journey. Thank you Nutifood for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to contribute to building infrastructure and creating a new symbol for the future of the city named after President Ho Chi Minh. We commit to constructing this project without profit, as a contribution to our beloved city and in solidarity with Nutifood's noble gesture.”

It is expected that the items under construction package No. 1 of the pedestrian bridge project across the Saigon River will be completed within 9 months. Simultaneously, Nutifood is also accelerating the progress of other related items and tasks to ensure the project is completed and put into use as soon as possible.
Previously, as part of the series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, the groundbreaking ceremony for the pedestrian bridge project across the Saigon River was solemnly held by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee at Ben Bach Dang Park, District 1. The entire construction cost of this project, estimated at approximately 1,000 billion VND, was sponsored by Nutifood. This is a gift of gratitude from Nutifood to consumers nationwide and the people of Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City who have trusted and supported Nutifood products for the past 25 years.
