46 years of formation and development, over 1,000 projects of all scales and complexities, more than 10,000 employees working in offices and on construction sites across Vietnam… these are the numbers that speak volumes about the nearly half-century journey of Construction Corporation No. 1 – JSC (CC1) in transforming the nation. It's not a very long journey, but one to be proud of – a journey overcoming countless obstacles, marked by a series of outstanding achievements resulting from extraordinary efforts.

After 1975, the country entered a period of reconstruction. In the South, the economy was severely devastated, and infrastructure was outdated and severely lacking. Established in this context, Construction Corporation No. 1 – JSC (CC1) carried a great mission – not only to build, but also to “revive” power plants, industrial zones, and connect key areas.
Along majestic rivers, cascading waterfalls amidst vast forests, surrounded by rugged mountains, hydroelectric power plants gradually took shape. With the architectural footprint of CC1, the Tri An, Thac Mo, Ham Thuan - Da Mi, Buon Kuop, Buon Tua Srah, Dong Nai 3, 4 hydroelectric power plants… have become landmark projects, gradually solving the "electricity shortage" problem of the entire South.

Entering the 21st century, as Vietnam witnessed the boom and development of thermal power plants, CC1 was also on a journey to build new aspirations with a series of thermal power plant projects such as Nhon Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant, Phu My Thermal Power Plant, Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant…, contributing to realizing the goal of increasing national electricity production.
In 2005, 30 years after the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country, CC1 officially commenced construction of the Thu Thiem Bridge – marking the presence of the first bridge spanning the Saigon River after the victory of April 30, 1975. Continuing the legacy of the Thu Thiem Bridge, CC1 has continuously participated in the construction of numerous other bridges such as the Dong Nai Bridge, Hoa An Bridge, An Hao Bridge, etc., not only connecting the two banks but also opening up vital transportation routes, promoting socio-economic development in the southern region.

CC1 continues to make a strong mark in the construction sector with a series of civil works ranging from houses, hotels, hospitals, and schools to industrial projects such as the Dung Quat Oil Refinery (Quang Ngai), the Nghi Son Oil Refinery (Thanh Hoa), the Long Son Petrochemical Complex (Ba Ria - Vung Tau), and numerous other complex projects throughout the country. Each project is an important piece contributing to the socio-economic development of the Southern region in particular and the whole country in general.
Looking back at this period of development, it's perhaps fair to call it CC1's journey of awakening dormant lands. Beyond simply building bridges, factories, and connecting roads, CC1 has also forged a position few businesses can achieve – becoming one of the leading names dominating almost the entire market share for energy construction projects in Southern Vietnam; and simultaneously present in almost all construction sectors, from industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects to civil engineering works.

CC1 not only transformed barren land into iconic structures, but also reinvented itself to grow in the modern era. The end of 2020 marked a turning point for CC1 with the complete divestment of state ownership. No longer bearing the label of a "state-owned enterprise," CC1 officially embarked on a new journey of development as a market-oriented private enterprise – flexible, autonomous, and developing through its own internal strength.
Taking full advantage of the government-led infrastructure investment wave, CC1 has successfully won bids and participated in the construction of a series of key national projects such as Terminal 3 – Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Package 5.10 – Passenger Terminal – Long Thanh International Airport, Terminal 2 – Dong Hoi Airport; component projects in the Eastern North-South Expressway including the Can Tho – Hau Giang, Hau Giang – Ca Mau, Quy Nhon – Chi Thanh, and Chi Thanh – Van Phong expressways; Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant, Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant; Dai Ngai 2 Bridge…

Throughout the urbanization and development of Ho Chi Minh City, CC1's mark is evident in a series of iconic projects spanning many fields. From public works such as the Ho Chi Minh City Television Station, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Headquarters, the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, to key hospitals such as the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital, and the Thanh Do - Hoa Lam Shangri-La International Hospital...
In the high-end accommodation and service sector, CC1 has been involved in projects such as Rex Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Caravelle Hotel, Sofitel Plaza… In the commercial and office sector, it has also made its mark with projects such as Diamond Plaza, Sunwah Tower, E-Town Building, along with Vinhomes Central Park urban area, and industrial complexes such as Ha Tien Cement Plant 2…

In 2023 alone, CC1 won 21 new contracts with a total contract value of VND 16,487 billion. These included 14 infrastructure projects, 5 industrial projects, and 2 civil projects. At the end of 2024, CC1 recorded a net revenue increase of 81% year-on-year, reaching VND 10,160 billion – a record high for the corporation. Construction activities contributed 71% of this total revenue. As of May 2025, CC1 is simultaneously implementing over 60 projects spanning from North to South Vietnam, of all scales and complexities.
Entering its fifth year since privatization, CC1 is undergoing a significant transformation, gradually asserting its pioneering position in three core areas: construction, investment, and the production and trading of construction materials. CC1's vision for 2025-2027 is to accelerate its transformation with a dual strategy: general contractor – investor. Specifically, CC1 aims to expand its construction market share by participating in upcoming national mega-projects such as the North-South Expressway Phase 2, the expansion of Tan Son Nhat and Long Thanh airports, the urban railway systems in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and high-speed rail. The company also continues to develop its role as an investor through transportation and industrial infrastructure projects under the PPP model and real estate business.

Not content with its role as a "builder" domestically, CC1 is proactively writing its own path of transformation and breakthrough. From 2025 to 2027, the company aims to export construction services to neighboring countries such as Laos and Cambodia. This demonstrates CC1's readiness to expand internationally. What it brings to the international market is not simply technical expertise, but also general contracting experience, construction organization capabilities, and the resilience of Vietnamese infrastructure builders. This is a clear declaration of its strategy to expand its capabilities, and represents the cautious first steps in laying the foundation for bringing Vietnam's construction industry onto the global stage.
Simultaneously, CC1 is also strengthening international cooperation within the domestic market. Strategic partnerships with renowned general contractors such as Taisei, Shimizu, the NJPT consortium (Japan), and corporations from South Korea, China, and Europe are ways for CC1 to "enhance its internal strength through external resources" – accessing modern construction technologies, international management models, and global operational culture.
Looking back at 46 years of formation and development, regardless of the time period or operating model, CC1's capabilities have always been undeniable. Each project and construction is a testament to CC1's development, bearing its distinctive mark not only in terms of safety, quality, operational functionality, and aesthetics, but also in its sustainability against the challenges of time. This is the foundation upon which CC1 realizes its vision of becoming a leading investment and construction group in Vietnam and a professional international contractor.

To date, CC1 has matured, possessing the necessary expertise, technical and financial capabilities to participate in various construction sectors in diverse forms. This is evidenced not only by the series of key projects CC1 is currently involved in, but also by its collection of prestigious awards and medals spanning decades, such as the Ho Chi Minh Order; the First, Second, and Third Class Independence Orders; the First, Second, and Third Class Labor Orders; Top 10 Largest Construction Enterprises in Vietnam (VNR500) in 2024; Top 500 Most Profitable Enterprises in Vietnam (PROFIT500) in 2024; leading the Top 10 Reputable Infrastructure and Industrial Construction Contractors in 2025; and most recently, a series of projects undertaken by CC1 that were honored in the Top 50 Outstanding Projects and Clusters of Projects in Ho Chi Minh City.
If we had to name the factors that have contributed to CC1's outstanding achievements over the past half-century, perhaps people and technology would be the "trump cards".

Breaking the stereotype that "construction is a slow industry in digital transformation," CC1, with its capabilities as a leading construction contractor in Vietnam, has invested early in many advanced construction technology solutions, in addition to equipping itself with modern machinery and equipment.
Most notably, this includes the implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) on key projects to optimize schedule management, tightly control costs, and ensure the highest quality of construction; leveraging Plaxis (Bentley) geotechnical software solutions to provide accurate analyses and safe, efficient construction solutions; applying AI automation through FPT's Akabot platform in data processing, helping relevant departments make faster and more effective decisions; and managing projects using ERP systems to improve project performance analysis, proactively forecast risks, and optimize resource allocation.

Alongside modern technological solutions, a highly skilled workforce is essential. Only then can CC1 achieve breakthroughs in architectural design, thereby satisfying the increasingly stringent requirements of construction standards in the new era. Aiming to enhance technical and technological capabilities, and to train a high-quality workforce to undertake projects both domestically and internationally, CC1 has sent many engineers and key personnel to Japan, South Korea, Russia, China, etc., to learn and research construction technologies in the fields of high-speed transportation infrastructure and nuclear power plant construction; and to study courses on EPC project management and the operation of modern machinery.
Choosing to innovate before being forced, choosing to prepare instead of waiting for opportunities, CC1 proactively "prepared one step ahead" in both technology and human resources: training high-quality human resources, mastering modern construction technologies, integrating digital solutions into operational processes... So when national mega-projects are implemented, where the race is on and opportunities are only for those who are ready, CC1 is not on the sidelines, but is ready to participate – with sufficient internal strength to not only participate, but also make its mark in the country's iconic projects.

If in the past, CC1 awakened silent lands, now it is a land constantly reinventing itself – rebuilding its model, upgrading its engineering team, mastering construction technology, and making breakthroughs both domestically and internationally.
Nearly half a century of development is also the same amount of time that CC1 has accompanied the transformation of Southern Vietnam in particular and Vietnam in general. The face of the country has been, is, and will always be changing. In that journey, CC1 will always leave its mark silently but persistently, diligently building Vietnam's aspirations: thermal and nuclear power plants; urban and high-speed rail systems; international airports; wastewater treatment plants, waste-to-energy projects…
Continuing the story of "A New Era of Development – An Era of National Rise," CC1 remains the storyteller through concrete, steel, and technology; through its superior construction capabilities and through projects that bear the mark of excellence, designs that symbolize stature and aesthetic value, and enduring value over time.
