CC1 continues its expansion with a "real-world" ESG strategy.

On August 25, 2025, Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) held a meeting with CGS Vietnam to discuss its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy. This is a continuation of CC1's long-standing commitment to making ESG a foundation for sustainable development and international integration.

A panoramic view of the working session between CC1 and CGS Vietnam, marking a continuation in the journey of implementing the ESG strategy.

Earlier, at the end of June, within the framework of the National Research Program on Commitment and Implementation of ESG, Viet Research, in collaboration with the Finance and Investment Newspaper (Ministry of Finance), announced the Top 10 Green ESG Enterprises in Vietnam 2025 – Construction Industry. CC1 was honored to be recognized in the group of Infrastructure and Electrical and Telecommunications Construction Developers, thanks to its concrete efforts in linking construction capacity, brand reputation with environmental, social, and governance responsibilities, affirming the correctness of the sustainable development orientation that the enterprise has chosen.

Identifying 2025 as the starting point, laying a solid foundation for breakthrough development goals in the 2025-2030 period, coinciding with the special occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the CC1 leadership has set many ambitious goals. Among them, the ESG strategy is positioned as a key pillar, ensuring sustainable development, balancing economic efficiency with social and environmental responsibility, and creating a foundation for CC1 to affirm its pioneering role in the integration process.

CC1's leadership identifies ESG as a strategic pillar, aiming to become a pioneer in the Vietnamese construction industry and meet international standards for sustainable development.

In the context of a rapidly changing world, ESG has become an essential standard for businesses, especially in the construction industry – a sector with a significant impact on the environment and communities. Vietnam aims for Net Zero by 2050, opening up important opportunities for pioneering businesses like CC1 to access green capital, expand their participation in international value chains, and enhance their reputation in regional cooperation as well as in the global market.

CC1's ESG strategy is implemented in two key phases. In the 2025–2026 phase, the company will focus on developing a set of evaluation indicators, finalizing its sustainability report, and integrating ESG criteria into its governance activities, with a plan to officially announce this at the Shareholders' General Meeting starting in 2025. In the 2027–2030 phase, CC1 aims to become a trusted partner in the field of sustainable development for international organizations, investors, and local communities.

Not stopping at mere commitment, CC1 has begun to realize ESG through numerous concrete solutions. Given the global construction industry's report on air pollution (23%), climate change impact (50%), water pollution (40%), and landfill waste (50%) (according to GoContractor and the US Green Building Council – USGBC), CC1 has implemented many practical solutions to minimize environmental impact during construction. These include using energy-efficient equipment, controlling dust and noise, treating wastewater according to standards, shielding construction sites, and training personnel in green construction methods. These requirements are integrated throughout the entire process, from design and subcontractor selection to acceptance, ensuring consistency and transparency.

As the general contractor for the Thu Thiem Bridge – an iconic transportation project in Ho Chi Minh City – CC1 not only ensures the progress and quality of technical and aesthetic aspects but also meets high standards of labor safety and environmental protection.
CC1 participated in the construction of the Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant – a key national project applying leading-edge environmental protection technology in Vietnam, with an electrostatic dust filter system with an efficiency of 99.75%, ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

Alongside environmental considerations, the company strictly adheres to occupational safety and health standards, while promoting the "green building" model – structures that not only reduce emissions, save energy and resources, but also contribute to improving the quality of life for residents.

From a governance perspective, CC1 focuses on building a transparent, modern, and accountable system. Every strategic decision is linked to environmental and social factors, in addition to financial efficiency. This is the foundation that helps CC1 enhance the trust of shareholders, investors, and international partners, while consolidating its long-term development base.

Mr. Le Bao Anh, General Director of CC1, emphasized: “CC1’s four core competitive advantages include the application of information technology and international standards in management and operations; building a large-scale supply chain operating at high speed and with superior efficiency; developing a professional management system, culture, and human resources that can be replicated across member companies; and the orientation to build CC1 into a multi-industry group, increasing efficiency and expanding business opportunities throughout the entire ecosystem. Based on this foundation, CC1 is determined to implement its ESG strategy systematically and precisely, considering it an essential step to consolidate long-term advantages, increase competitiveness, and simultaneously open the door to integration and affirm its reputation in the international market.”.

With a long-term vision, CC1 not only aligns with national goals for sustainable development but also contributes to shaping a new image for Vietnam's construction industry. Its ESG strategy is proof of a pioneering, responsible enterprise with the courage to integrate globally, aiming for a green and sustainable future.
