On September 10th, Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) held a meeting with representatives from Herrenkencht Company from Germany to discuss strategic cooperation opportunities in key metro line projects in Vietnam, marking an important step in mastering technology, enhancing internal capabilities, and preparing for the metro – high-speed rail era.

Representing CC1 were Mr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc – Chairman of the Board of Directors of CC1 and Mr. Le Bao Anh – General Director of CC1, along with members of the Board of Directors and managers from various departments/divisions of the company.
Representing Herrenkencht were Mr. Jeremy – Vice General Manager for Asia, Mr. Pham Quang Hai – Head Representative of Herrenkencht in Vietnam, along with Herrenkencht engineers and representatives from Viet Tien Company – Herrenkencht's representative in Vietnam.

During the exchange, the two sides discussed the potential for cooperation in upcoming Metro projects, and also explored opportunities to apply TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) technology, a modern tunnel boring machine specifically used for urban tunnel construction, in Vietnam.

In particular, CC1 always prioritizes investing in training and skill development for its engineering team, gradually elevating the level of Vietnamese engineers to master modern construction technologies.
In late August, CC1, in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, launched an intensive training program on "High-Speed Rail - Urban Rail," aiming to equip engineers with the most in-depth knowledge and develop internal capabilities to master technology creatively and efficiently. This effort not only increases self-reliance in the supply chain and optimizes import costs but also contributes to building a modern and sustainable production ecosystem.
With a commitment to prestige, quality, timeliness, and efficiency, CC1 affirms its leading position by focusing on the application of modern technology in construction. CC1 is proud to have made its mark with the completion of two iconic underground stations: City Theatre Station and Ba Son Station – part of Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien), opening up expectations for a modern and sustainable urban landscape. This success also demonstrates CC1's practical capabilities in implementing key infrastructure projects requiring high technical expertise, such as urban rail and high-speed rail.
For nearly half a century, CC1 has consistently played a pioneering role in collaborating with leading technology partners from South Korea, Japan, China, and other countries to access and apply modern solutions for key infrastructure projects. Responding to the spirit of innovation outlined in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, CC1 continuously expands international cooperation, enhances its technological and construction capabilities, and is ready to undertake urban rail projects, high-speed rail projects, and other national-scale infrastructure projects, meeting the most stringent requirements for quality, schedule, and safety.
Notably, on September 8th, the Ministry of Construction organized the "Conference to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP of the Government, and to promote science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the construction and transportation sectors." At the conference, CC1's strategic proposals aimed at enhancing competitiveness and sustainable development in the construction industry, presented by Mr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc – Chairman of the Board of Directors, received recognition and high praise from Minister Tran Hong Minh. Accordingly, it was affirmed that CC1's proposals are not only consistent with the sustainable development orientation but also open up new directions for the construction industry in the digital age.
Let's look back at some of the most memorable moments from the exchange:
