CC1 works with Portcoast to discuss the application of BIM and GIS in transportation infrastructure construction.

On the morning of June 11, 2025, a delegation from Construction Corporation No. 1 – JSC (CC1) held a working meeting at the office of Portcoast Engineering and Consulting Joint Stock Company. The meeting took place in an open atmosphere, aiming to learn about and exchange professional experience, and to explore prospects for future cooperation.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc – Chairman of the Board of Directors of CC1, Mr. Tran Tan Phuc – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Portcoast, and the engineering staff of both companies.

Within the framework of the program, CC1 and Portcoast had in-depth discussions related to the application of GIS (Geographic Information System) to the field of transportation infrastructure construction; the thorough application of BIM with accompanying technologies such as 3D Laser Scan, Scan-to-BIM, VR, AR, MR… to create a complete ecosystem for projects such as: topographic surveying, recording the current state of the project, detecting errors, conflicts or potential problems in a timely and accurate manner…

The CC1 engineering team asked many questions to better understand the operating principles and how to integrate topographic data, BIM, and monitoring systems into the GIS platform. The meeting was not only an opportunity for CC1 to access modern technological solutions, but also a chance for the two leading companies to exchange experiences and lay the foundation for future cooperation agreements in applying digital technology to construction and project management.

Mr. Tran Tan Phuc shared insights on the operating principles of BIM and GIS in transportation infrastructure construction.
Mr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc highly appreciated this meeting as an opportunity for both sides to exchange professional experience.

Over 46 years of formation and development, CC1 has affirmed its pioneering position in three core areas: construction, investment, and production & trading of construction materials. With superior construction capabilities, CC1 has always been the brand of choice for a series of key national projects such as Tan Son Nhat Terminal 3, Long Thanh International Airport, the North-South Expressway, Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien), Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant, Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant, Thu Thiem Bridge, Long Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, Package 4 - National Highway 5 Upgrade Project in the Kingdom of Cambodia…

Meanwhile, in Vietnam, Portcoast is a leading consulting firm specializing in surveying and constructing digital models of existing conditions using advanced Laser Scan, Lidar, and Photogrammetry technologies on a GIS platform to deploy 2D/3D digital maps, applying Building Information Modeling (BIM) from the survey, planning, design, and construction supervision phases, integrating BIM models on 3D GIS geographic information systems, developing virtual reality applications (VR, XR, MR), and digital twin models. Portcoast focuses on researching and applying digital technology to infrastructure, not only in the transportation sector but also in industrial infrastructure, urban development, and heritage preservation.

This meeting demonstrates CC1's spirit of rapid progress and its aspiration to lead in technological innovation and digital transformation. Proactively exploring and early integration of BIM and GIS applications in transportation infrastructure construction promises to bring breakthroughs in improving project implementation efficiency, from timelines and quality to costs. This is a crucial foundation for CC1 to enhance its competitiveness, gradually expand its market share, and drive business growth in the context of integration.
