The Gia Nghia Central Square project commenced in November 2022, with the Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 3 as the investor and Construction Corporation No. 1 – JSC (CC1) as the main contractor. Within the overall project, the Exhibition and Convention Center is one of the most significant structures, comprising two floors and a construction area of 23,265 m². The Gia Nghia Central Square is expected to become a community space and a new symbol of Gia Nghia city, the center of the vast Lam Dong province.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Ho Van Muoi, remarked that the Gia Nghia Central Square Complex and the Museum-Library-Park Complex are key urban and cultural infrastructure projects of groundbreaking scale. This is not only the largest square in the Central Highlands and South Central Coast region, but also proudly ranks among the Top 10 largest squares in the country.

Mr. Ho Van Muoi highly appreciated the significance and value that Gia Nghia Central Square brings to the local people.

According to Mr. Mười, today's achievement is the culmination of the determination and efforts of the entire political system, the cooperation of all levels and sectors, the construction units, and especially the consensus and support of the people throughout the project's implementation.

Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh – Deputy General Director of CC1, representing the main contractor, attended the inauguration ceremony.

Built using modern structural solutions, the building features a foundation system of pre-stressed centrifugal concrete piles with a diameter of D400, constructed using the static pressing method; a system of columns, beams, and floor slabs with monolithic reinforced concrete grade 400; exterior walls constructed of unburnt bricks; and a reinforced concrete roof system with waterproofing and heat insulation capabilities.

The project also includes the installation of integrated technical systems for operation, including electrical and lighting systems, sound systems, internet and Wi-Fi networks, surveillance cameras, ventilation, emergency lighting and escape route signage, lightning protection, water supply and drainage, and fire fighting systems… In addition, CC1 has completed the ground leveling work for the technical infrastructure and roads surrounding the square.

The overall view of the square harmonizes with the central lake and the surrounding nature.

Notably, the project boasts a complex, multi-functional design that harmoniously combines a landscaped lake at ground level with a modern underground shopping, service, and entertainment complex.

A new cultural meeting point for the people of Lam Dong province.

For Lam Dong province, these two projects will serve as venues for large-scale political, economic, and cultural events; and will also be attractive destinations to promote the image, cultural identity, and development potential of the locality in the future.

At the event, thousands of people from the former Dak Nong province and other provinces in the Central Highlands region arrived early to witness the moment the square was officially opened. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut, a resident of Nam Gia Nghia ward for 68 years, arrived at the square early with her grandchildren and said her family was extremely excited about this day. She shared that in Gia Nghia before, cultural spaces were mainly located on the Floating Island and the old stadium, which had limited area.

"We hope the square will bring a breath of fresh air to the cultural life of the people and contribute to attracting and stimulating the economic development of the locality," Ms. Ut said enthusiastically.

Thousands of people flocked to the inauguration ceremony on the evening of July 25, 2026.
People eagerly watched the water fountain show in the square.

Amidst the excitement, Mr. Nguyen Van Lam's family traveled from Dak Lak to the center of Gia Nghia to watch the cultural performances, including the water music and dance show. Mr. Lam said that besides Lam Vien Square in Da Lat City, this is the second large square located in Lam Dong, with a complex of many recreational areas, and is an important cultural hub of the former Dak Nong province.

The fairgrounds, featuring numerous stalls and a wide variety of goods in the square area, attract tourists and locals alike to visit and shop.

The inauguration ceremony was a great success.

In recent years, alongside the simultaneous construction of key projects such as the Hanoi Capital Region Ring Road 4 Project, major airport terminal projects, North-South expressways, Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien), and many strategic infrastructure and civil works, CC1 has continued to expand its construction capacity, promote the application of technology, train high-quality human resources, and strengthen international cooperation to meet the increasingly high demands of large-scale projects.
