On the afternoon of August 30, 2023, at the Management Board of Transport and Agriculture Construction Investment Projects of An Giang province, the Joint Venture of Construction Corporation No. 1 - Joint Stock Company (CC1) - Construction Joint Stock Company Tan Nam - Thanh An Corporation and the Management Board of Transport and Agricultural Construction Investment Projects have signed a contract for Package 45: Construction and installation of works from Km43 + 500 - End of project component project 1; Belonging to Component Project 1, Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project (Phase 1) with a total contract value of up to 2,033 billion VND, expected construction time is 1,260 day.
The expressway has its starting point connecting with National Highway 91 (route N1) in Vinh Te commune (Chau Doc city, An Giang province); The end point is at the intersection with Southern Song Hau National Highway (belonging to Tran De port, Soc Trang province).
Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway is one of three horizontal highways in the Mekong Delta region. Construction investment will help improve the transportation network in the region, meeting the needs of transportation along the Hau River axis, linking with seaports in Can Tho and urban centers such as Chau Doc. , Can Tho, Long Xuyen, Tran De port of Soc Trang province and international border gates bordering Cambodia.
This horizontal axis expressway also links vertical axis routes such as the Eastern North - South Expressway (Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway), the Western North - South Expressway (Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway), the Western North - South Expressway (Highway N2 – My An – Cao Lanh Lo Te – Rach Soi), National Highway 1.
Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project helps reduce traffic congestion, ensure traffic safety and national defense security in the Southwest region, helping to develop the economy, culture, society in the region.
Currently, CC1 and other Joint Venture contractors are participating in 4 component projects under the Eastern North - South Expressway Construction Project for the period 2021 - 2025 including: Component Expressway Project in Can section Tho - Hau Giang package XL01 with package value of 7,966 billion VND; Component expressway project of Hau Giang - Ca Mau section XL03 package with package value of 3,334 billion VND; Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh section expressway project package 11-XL with package value of 3,690 billion VND; Chi Thanh - Van Phong section expressway project package XL02 with package value of 4,440 billion VND. Most recently, on July 27, 2023, CC1 continued to participate in Component Project 3 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Construction Investment Project, phase 1 worth VND 1,467 billion and on the 16th August 2023, CC1 also officially participates in the consortium of 4 contractors participating in the construction of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway (phase 1) worth 1,411 billion VND.
