This will significantly reduce the distance from Ho Chi Minh City to provinces like Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau by approximately 80 kilometers, alleviating the increasing traffic pressure on National Highway 1A. It will also meet the rising demand for transportation as economic zones such as Dinh An, Tran De Industrial Park, Dai Ngai, An Nghiep, and My Thanh become operational. Additionally, it will enhance national defense and security along the southern coastal areas.
