Morning of the 7th/01/2024, CC1 solemnly held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Package No. 12: Construction and installation of section Km174+000 to Km189+666.65 Component project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Expressway Construction Investment Project Soc Trang Phase 1 in Lich Hoi Thuong town, Tran De district, Soc Trang province.

Attending the Groundbreaking Ceremony, on CC1's side, there was the presence of Mr. Phan Van Chinh - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Tran Minh Doanh - Deputy General Director of Transport Construction and Technical Infrastructure; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Tran - Director of Administration - Human Resources Division along with the Corporation's department managers and the collective of employees at the Project Management Board. On the side of local leaders, there was Mr. Nguyen Trong Son - Chairman of Tran De District People's Committee; Mr. Son Hong Phuc - Chairman of Tran De District People's Council and leaders of Vien Binh, Lieu Tu, Trung Binh, Lich Hoi Thuong communes (Tran De District). On the Investor's side, there was Mr. Thach Minh Hoai - Director of Project Management Board 2 of Soc Trang province and representatives of partner units and joint venture members.

This package includes construction and installation of section Km 174+000 to Km 189+666.65 (including survey and construction drawing design). Total investment cost is about 2,100 billion VND, implementation time is 1,260 days. The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project is more than 188km long, passing through provinces and cities including: An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang. Phase 1 scale has 4 lanes, design speed of 100 km/h. The total investment of the project is 44,691 billion VND. The starting point connecting Highway 91 is in Chau Doc city, An Giang province. The end point intersects with South Song Hau National Highway, connecting to Tran De port path (Soc Trang province).

Component project 4 belongs to the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway construction investment project phase 1, total route length is about 58.37km. Of which, the length through Hau Giang province is about 0.47km. The project's starting point at Km131+300 connects to the ending point of Project Component 3, in Bung Tau town, Hau Giang province; The end point at Km189+666.65 intersects with the Southern Song Hau national highway and the road leading to Tran De port (planned) in Tran De district, Soc Trang province. Total investment is about 11,961.00 billion VND, of which compensation, support and resettlement costs are 1,788.20 billion VND (clearance of all 6 lanes); Construction cost 8,551.65 billion VND; equipment cost 5.52 billion VND; Project management costs are 45.01 billion VND, construction investment consulting costs are 276.27 billion VND and other costs are 282.18 billion VND; Provision costs are about 1,012.17 billion VND.

According to the plan, some sections of the route with high traffic volume will be basically completed in 2025, the entire route will be basically completed in 2026, and the entire project will be put into synchronous operation in 2027.

The investment in new construction of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway contributes to completing the transportation network in the region, connecting economic centers, new urban areas and traffic hubs (gateways). international ports, river ports, sea ports...) in provinces and cities such as An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Soc Trang. At the same time, meeting transportation needs on the Northwest - Southeast economic corridor, improving traffic safety in the region, creating conditions to promote economic, cultural and social development and ensuring national defense and security in the Southwest region in particular and the whole country in general.
