The Tham Luong – Ben Cat – Nuoc Len canal infrastructure and environmental improvement project is one of Ho Chi Minh City's key projects.

Specifically, sections 1, 2, and 4 are all being constructed by CC1. Despite the scarcity of sand and stone, CC1 has supplied sufficient materials to ensure the progress milestones are met. Simultaneously, CC1 has mobilized a workforce of over 200 workers and technical staff, along with more than 150 pieces of equipment, 30 dump trucks, and is urgently working in three shifts and four teams simultaneously at all construction sites.

With its superior construction capabilities and high determination to adhere to the schedule and ensure quality, CC1 was not only the first contractor to begin asphalt paving work on this project, but also the only unit to successfully complete the technical opening of all three packages XL-07, XL-08, and XL-10, just before the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification. It is expected that by the end of this year, CC1 will complete all items under its current contract.

The first phase of the technical opening ceremony marks a significant milestone in the infrastructure construction and environmental improvement project of the Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal. The items opened today demonstrate the efforts of the investor, design unit, consulting and supervision unit, and construction contractor.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dau An Phuc, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project Management Board, emphasized that the completed sections of the route have completed key items such as concrete embankments, drainage systems, technical trenches, and roads ranging from 8-12m wide. This not only helps improve the drainage system and reduce flooding but also contributes to beautifying the landscape, creating favorable conditions for traffic and people's travel, and promoting urban development in the area along the canal.

The Tham Luong – Ben Cat – Nuoc Len canal is nearly 32km long, flowing through 7 districts and counties including District 12, Binh Tan, Tan Phu, Tan Binh, Go Vap, Binh Thanh, and Binh Chanh. Upon completion, this canal will become the main drainage artery for nearly 15,000 hectares of surrounding area, preventing flooding and addressing pollution. The project is also expected to reduce traffic pressure on National Highway 1 thanks to two roads along the canal, while facilitating the development of waterway transport, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Long An via the Cho Dem River and with Dong Nai and Binh Duong via the Saigon River.
