After nearly three years of implementation, the Ring Road 4 – Capital Region project, the section passing through Hanoi, spanning nearly 60km, is gradually taking shape with many sections, overpasses, and parallel roads already completed. On the construction site, thousands of engineers and workers are maintaining multiple construction fronts, striving to complete the project and put it into operation from 2027.
Nearly three years after its commencement, the Ring Road 4 – Capital Region project, passing through Hanoi, is gradually realizing its potential as a strategic transportation route. Many sections of road, overpasses, and parallel roads have been completed, while contractors are mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment to accelerate progress on the remaining items.The Ring Road 4 – Capital Region project has a total length of 113.52 km, passing through three localities: Hanoi (57.52 km), Hung Yen (19.3 km), and Bac Ninh (36.7 km), with a total investment of over 85,800 billion VND. Construction began on June 25, 2023, and is identified as one of the key national transportation infrastructure projects.According to the design, the central core of the road is reserved for a high-speed highway (6 lanes) serving vehicles traveling at speeds of approximately 100 km/h. The reserved land adjacent to the highway is planned for the construction of the national railway ring road in subsequent phases. On either side are urban access roads, landscaped green spaces, and infrastructure safety corridors.Despite the scorching heat of mid-July, hundreds of workers remained on the construction site, simultaneously carrying out various tasks from steel reinforcement fabrication and structural erection to beam installation and material transportation, all aimed at ensuring the overall progress of the project.At this intersection, which is currently planned as a direct interchange (a straight-through interchange), construction units are urgently casting girders and installing the elevated bridge spans crossing National Highway 6.On the construction site, the project enterprise has deployed dozens of construction teams for the various construction packages, focusing on implementing bridge, approach bridge, and interchange components along the entire route.On the construction site, machinery and workers toil under the scorching sun to ensure the Ring Road 4 section is completed on schedule. Upon completion, Ring Road 4 and the interchange on National Highway 21C will help alleviate traffic congestion in southern Hanoi, contributing to economic development.With a massive amount of work being carried out simultaneously along the entire route, the appearance of Ring Road 4 through Hanoi is becoming increasingly clear.According to the Hanoi Capital City Master Plan with a 100-year vision, Ring Road 4 – Capital Region plays the role of a "leading infrastructure framework," not only helping to reduce traffic pressure in the inner city and connect radial expressways, but also creating a new development axis and expanding urban space towards the suburbs. Experts assess that the project is being implemented in the context of an increasingly完善 legal system regarding planning, land, housing, and real estate business, creating conditions for effective management of urban development along both sides of the route. When put into operation, Ring Road 4 will not only contribute to improving the transportation connectivity of the Capital Region but also open up new development opportunities for suburban areas, creating momentum for socio-economic development of the entire Northern key economic region.
