ME SO BRIDGE PROJECT AHEAD OF SCHEDULE BY NEARLY 51%, ACCELERATING CONSTRUCTION BEFORE THE RAINY SEASON.

By mid-May 2026, the construction package for the Me So Bridge, part of the Hanoi Capital Region Ring Road 4 Project, had reached over 231 TP2T in contract value, exceeding the planned progress by nearly 51 TP2T. Contractors are accelerating construction of the foundations, piers, and span structures to ensure the completion of key components before the 2026 rainy season.

On the construction siteIn mid-May 2026, construction was proceeding rapidly along the entire route of the Me So bridge. Multiple construction teams were simultaneously deployed both on land and in the river to accelerate the progress of the bridge over the Red River, part of the Ring Road 4 Project – Hanoi Capital Region.
The cumulative value of completed work for the Me So Bridge construction project has reached approximately VND 748.19 billion, equivalent to 23.161 TP2T of the contract value, achieving 127.141 TP2T of the planned target. Currently, the entire project is ahead of schedule by approximately 4.941 TP2T compared to the contract plan. (Photo: approach bridge on the Hanoi side)
On the construction site, the foundation and substructure work has been implemented simultaneously. Approximately 66.51 TP2T of bored piles have been completed; concrete work for the foundation, body, and pier cap has reached approximately 16.41 TP2T. Meanwhile, the casting of prestressed concrete beams has also commenced, reaching approximately 71 TP2T.
The project focuses on completing the basic foundation of the main piers crossing the river, accelerating the construction of the pier shafts, and speeding up the casting of girders and preparing for the deployment of bridge span structures. These are key items to ensure the maintenance of the critical path and meet construction requirements before the 2026 rainy season.
Workers are currently installing the enclosure system.
The large concrete slabs were lowered using a crane.
Then, use a hydraulic jack to lower the drum.
In the coming period, the project will focus on completing the main pier foundation across the river, accelerating the construction of the pier body, and speeding up the girder casting process and preparing for the deployment of bridge span structures. These are key items to ensure the maintenance of the critical path and meet construction requirements before the 2026 rainy season.
The Me So Bridge is one of the key components of sub-project 3. The overarching requirement is to maintain continuous construction, prevent disruptions to the workflow, and make the most of favorable weather conditions before the flood season.
The Me So Bridge is a large bridge project spanning the Red River, facing complex construction conditions significantly influenced by hydrological and geological factors, as well as the requirement to organize construction on the water surface. During implementation, the project encountered numerous difficulties such as changing seasons, the risk of minor floods, the large construction area, the need to mobilize large specialized equipment, and the simultaneous organization of many complex technical aspects.
To ensure progress, the investor and contractors proactively developed flexible construction plans, increased manpower and equipment, and expanded construction fronts from the beginning of the year. Currently, the construction site maintains 8 main construction fronts with approximately 430 personnel and more than 100 pieces of equipment.
