CONSTRUCTION OF CAT LAI BRIDGE AND DONG NAI 2 BRIDGE CONNECTING TO HO CHI MINH CITY WILL BEGIN IN 2026

On December 10th, at the 8th session of the 10th term (2021-2026), the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council voted to approve two draft resolutions on the investment policy for the construction of Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2 Bridge) and Cat Lai Bridge. Accordingly, the Cat Lai and Dong Nai 2 bridge projects will be invested in under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, with the investor selected in special circumstances.

These projects play a crucial role in strengthening transportation connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and the Southern key economic region, opening up strong development momentum for the entire region. Notably, Construction Corporation No. 1 – JSC (CC1) is the investor proposing to implement both projects, demonstrating the scale and capacity of a leading contractor in the field of national transportation infrastructure.

The Cat Lai Bridge project is classified as a Group A, special-grade project, comprising a bridge and road with a total length of over 11.6 km. The project starts in Cat Lai ward (Ho Chi Minh City) and ends at the intersection with the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway in Dai Phuoc commune, Dong Nai province. The preliminary total investment for the project is nearly 18,300 billion VND (excluding loan interest).

The Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2) project has a total length of approximately 9.8km, including the Dong Nai 2 bridge section which is about 3.5km long, with a 36m wide cross-section and a design speed of 80km/h. The bridge connects Long Phuoc ward (Ho Chi Minh City) to Tam Phuoc ward, intersecting with the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway (Dong Nai province). The starting point intersects with the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 at the Go Cong interchange (Km1+500) and the end point intersects with National Highway 51. The project has a total investment of nearly 11,500 billion VND (excluding loan interest).

Two projects were selected for investor approval under special circumstances to ensure the timely implementation of urgent works serving the efficient operation of Long Thanh Airport and promoting socio-economic development throughout the region. The fact that CC1 was assigned the role of proposing investor demonstrates not only the trust of local authorities in CC1's legal capacity, financial resources, and experience in implementing large-scale projects, but also proves CC1's reputation as a "technical anchor" in the chain of key national projects.

With 46 years of formation and development, CC1 has affirmed its capabilities through a series of transportation infrastructure projects such as the new Dong Nai Bridge, Hoa An Bridge, An Hao Bridge, Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien, North-South expressways such as the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway, Can Tho-Hau Giang Expressway, Hau Giang-Ca Mau Expressway… Long Thanh Airport, Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3, Dong Hoi Airport Terminal 2… along with many projects with high technical complexity. CC1's comprehensive construction capacity is guaranteed by its team of high-quality engineers, modern technology, and pioneering spirit in all key infrastructure projects.
