Dong Nai aims to begin construction of the Cat Lai Bridge in 2026. This goal was announced by Ho Van Ha, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, at a meeting with departments and agencies on September 9th to hear proposals from Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) for investment projects to build a bridge to replace the Cat Lai ferry (Cat Lai Bridge) and the Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2 Bridge).
Faced with the negative impacts of having to exploit large reserves for embankment construction, affecting the ecosystem and posing risks of climate change, CC1 has proactively developed a solution for constructing elevated bridges to enhance the capacity to protect the delta and the livelihoods of tens of millions of people.
